5-12-12, Topped off!
Jesse Lacons and crew from South Carolina joined us on a beautiful day today with very light SW wind. A ton of boats out made crowded conditions but the fishing was great nonetheless. The Yellowfins hit us hard several times as well a single or two and we ended up with a limit as well as a couple gaffer dolphin. Great fishing overall for the whole fleet as tuna fishing is really shaping up. We still have a few days left open in May and June so give us a call. Thanks!
5-5-12, Tuna and Gaffers
Another picture perfect weather day for Nick Mckeel and crew from Raleigh. We started on a grass edge in the morning and had good gaffer dolphin action. We fished our way up the 600s by the afternoon where some boats had been getting some tuna bites throughout the day. We caught 4 nice yellowfins but should of had a few more, had some tough luck including losing 3 out of 5 one time. However, it was a great showing of tunas chasing flying fish so things looking up for tuna fishing. I have some days open this week so give us a call or e-mail to book your trip. Thanks!
5-4-12, Dock Full!
We had Ewing Hyatt and crew from Chesterfield Va on a slick clam day today. Hot gaffer action and a token yellowfin tuna for the boys who were busy all day. Great fishing right now and we have some days open this coming week so give us a call or e-mail to book your trip. Thanks!
Today we had Mike and Dollie Preston all the way from California. Beautiful weather and great gaffer dolphin action as Mike and Dollie were busy all day. Good dolphin action for the whole fleet and more coming from below so give us a call or e-mail to book your trip. Thanks!
4-28-12, Mixed Bag
Today we had Travis Coffey, Jason Burkolder and crew from the Weatern Virginia. Choppy conditions and the boys hung tough all day. We caught a few Gaffer dolphin on the Gulfstream change in the am and spent afternoon looking for tuna. We managed a few tunas but some boats were more fortunate and were hit several times so hopefully tuna fishing is on the upswing. We have lots of days open so give us a call or e-mail to book your trip. Thanks!
4-25-12, More Gaffers
Today we had a local group with Michael, Marty, Jerry and Rob as well as Michael's dad Frank who was visiting from Wisconsin. The tunas were a no show but we scrapped out a catch of gaffer dolphin. Thanks!
4-21-12, April Gaffers
Today we had Jhun Aure, Mark Keruclrich and crew. Beautiful weather and we had high hopes for good tuna fishing as it was great yellowfin action for the guys who fished Friday. The tunas made a no show and we reverted to plan B. Luckily the gulf stream change was holding some grass as well as nice gaffer dolphin. A little early for gaffers but we were happy to find them. Thanks guys and se you next time.
4-14-12, Slower Today
My apologies as the pic from Saturday on my phone got lost. Fishing was slower overall with a ton of boats on a beautiful weekend day. I zigged when I should have zagged for most of the day but we did manage 5 yellowfins for Zac Giampa and the boys from New York. Below are a couple more pics of the boat. Hard to get full shots now that she is back in the water but you can see her fresh paint job and black windshield good on the trailer and our new console on the bridge with electronics layout. Fishing this Saturday and 3 days next week but have lots of days open next few weeks so give us a call. Thanks!
Boat work done, First day back fishing
We completed our major projects in a mad dash on Thursday and made our first trip of the Spring today. We had our boat owners Dell Dembosky and Craig Johnson today. Good tuna fishing as we ended we up with 12 yellowfins. Also added pick of boat with fresh paint and some of rigging done. Will post some more pics soon. Thanks!
Finishing boat work, Good Spring Fishing
